
In 1946 , in Schio, the brothers Fulvio and Aldo Fontana began trading in furniture and furnishing accessories. After more than twenty years of activity, the rapidly expanding company commissioned a market survey to establish the optimal positioning of a new and innovative exhibition space. The site was identified in Costabissara along the Pasubio state road that connects Schio and Thiene to the provincial capital. On 16 November 1967, Fontana Sas was born. On a 12,000 m2 plot of land, it created the project by architect Franco Papesso, which envisaged a construction of over 4,000 m2 covered, divided into “blocks” of 400 m2. An innovative space that saw the light in July 1970, and which from then on would host the best that was produced in furniture and design accessories. After more than forty years, the Fontana Arredamenti e Design brand in Costabissara remains synonymous with innovation and refinement in the world of furniture, with a recognized fame and notoriety that make it a point of reference for the sector.
